Anti-Fraud and Security Policy
Online fashion marketplaces can attract payment scams, fake listings, phishing attempts, or fraudulent returns. This policy outlines our proactive measures, user responsibilities, and reporting process to keep Fashion Arc safe — allowing you to focus on effortless discovery and multi-brand shopping with consolidated delivery savings. Key Anti-Fraud and Security Measures
- Account Security
- Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing with unique salts — never in plain text, and inaccessible to our staff.
- We encourage strong passwords and may require two-factor authentication (2FA) in future updates.
- Never share your login details, OTPs, or payment info with anyone claiming to be from Fashion Arc (we will never ask for these via phone/email).
- Payment Security
- We comply with PCI DSS standards for any card-related processing (even though we currently use manual bKash/Nagad transfers in trial phase).
- We do not store full card details, CVV, or sensitive banking information.
- Manual payments (trial phase) require exact transaction reference matching — any mismatch is flagged and investigated.
- Order and Return Monitoring
- We detect patterns of abusive returns, serial fraud, or suspicious orders (e.g., bulk orders with quick returns).
- High-risk orders may require additional verification (e.g., phone confirmation or ID proof).
- Reporting Fraud or Suspicious Activity
- If you spot frauds, phishing emails/SMS pretending to be Fashion Arc: ■ Report immediately via in-app chat, email (hello@fashionarc.co), or phone/WhatsApp (+8801736988266). ■ Provide screenshots, transaction IDs, or details — we investigate within 24–48 hours.
- For payment fraud or identity theft, also report to Bangladesh Police Cyber Crime Unit or your bank. Bangladesh-Specific Compliance
- We comply with the Penal Code 1860 (Sections 420 for cheating, 465–468 for forgery, 471 for using forged documents) and ICT Act 2006 (amended 2013) for cyber fraud, phishing, and unauthorized access.
- Payment security aligns with Bangladesh Bank guidelines and PCI DSS where applicable.
- Fashion Arc is registered with the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) and works with authorities on reported fraud cases.
Consequences of Fraud
- Immediate Account Suspension or Permanent Termination — The involved account(s) will be suspended instantly (preventing further activity) or permanently banned.
- Order Cancellation and Fund Freezing — Any related orders will be canceled. Funds (including pending payouts to brands) may be frozen pending investigation.
- Refund/Chargeback Handling — Fraudulent transactions will be reversed; legitimate refunds may be denied if fraud is proven.
- Reporting to Authorities — We will report confirmed fraud to relevant Bangladesh authorities, including:
- Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) for money laundering suspicions.
- Bangladesh Police Cyber Crime Unit for phishing, hacking, or cyber fraud.
- Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) for consumer deception.
- Bangladesh Bank or relevant financial institutions for payment fraud.
- Legal Action — We reserve the right to pursue civil or criminal legal action under applicable laws (e.g., Penal Code 1860 Sections 420 for cheating, 465–468 for forgery; ICT Act 2006 for cyber crimes; Money Laundering Prevention Act 2012).
- Blacklisting — Fraudulent users/brands may be blacklisted across partner platforms or shared with industry networks (where permitted by law). Our goal is not punishment — it is protection. We act fairly and investigate thoroughly before taking action, but fraud undermines the trust that makes Fashion Arc special: one platform, many authentic brands, safe shopping, and real savings for everyone.
